Family Office Definition: Funeral Trust

Funeral Trust definition:  A funeral trust is established to prepay funeral expenses. The funeral home creates a “pooled income fund”, and the grantor transfers property to the trust to cover future funeral expenses. The grantor is responsible for income taxes on the trust.
