Family Office Definition: Heir

Heir definition:  An heir is he recepient of an inheritance from a deceased person’s estate. Heirs do not have to pay income taxes on their inheritance. Estate taxes are assessed on the total taxable estate and paid by the executor of the estate (not typically paid by the heirs).
