Family Office Definition: Put Option

Put Option definition:  A put option gives the holder the right to sell a stock at a specified strike price during the term of the option. If the stock price falls below the put strike price, the holder of a put option can sell the stock at the agreed upon strike price (which is better than selling at its lower market price).
