Section 7520 Rates definition:  Section 7520 rates are defined monthly by the IRS and based on US Treasury securities’ rates.   The 7520 rate is used to calculate the present value of annuities, life estates, or remainder interests for the month in which the death occurs. The calculated present value is used for gift and estate tax purposes.
