Family Office Definition: Stretch IRA Provision

Stretch IRA Provision definition:  The stretch IRA provision beneficiaries of an inherited IRA to name second- and third-generation beneficiaries, so that the inherited IRA keeps providing for multiple generations.  This provision allows distributions to be stretched out over a life expectancy period, rather than being fully distributed once inherited.  The family benefits from a longer period of tax-deferred growth.
