Take-Profit Order

Family Office Definition: Take-Profit Order

Take-Profit Order definition:  The purpose of a take-profit order is to capture stock price appreciation.  When a stock price reaches the take-profit price, the stock is sold. Take-profit order transactions are completed automatically at set price triggers, therefore removing human judgment or emotion. Take-profit orders are helpful for investors with concentrated stock positions or emotionally-attached stocks.
